Responsible Use

Practical limits, warning signs, pauses, and support for safer use.

Pre-launch counsel draftEffective September 1, 2026 · Version 0.5

This document is a product safeguard and disclosure draft. It is not final legal clearance and does not enable public access or real-money execution.

01

Set boundaries before you trade

  • Use only discretionary money you can afford to lose after housing, food, health care, debt, taxes, and savings needs are met.
  • Set conservative order, daily-loss, time, and agent-permission limits before live access. A limit is a ceiling, not a target or a promise that losses cannot exceed it.
  • Never borrow, use credit, sell necessities, or chase a loss to fund event contracts.
02

Recognize warning signs

  • Stop and seek support if you are hiding activity, missing obligations, borrowing, increasing size to recover losses, trading while distressed or impaired, or repeatedly overriding limits.
  • Agent automation can make harmful activity faster and less visible. Review every connected account and disable agent access when you take a break.
  • A profitable period, paper result, streak, or confident model does not make future outcomes predictable.
03

Pause and close safely

  • Use Jockey's stop controls and revoke agent access, then separately use each venue's timeout, limit, self-exclusion, or account-closure tools. Jockey cannot enforce a restriction outside Jockey.
  • Check for open orders, positions, settlement dates, withdrawal steps, and tax records at every venue. A pause does not automatically cancel, sell, settle, or withdraw anything.
  • Jockey should honor an authenticated restriction promptly and must not use promotional messages to induce a person to reverse it.
04

Vulnerable users and trusted support

  • Jockey should train a responsible-use owner to respond without shaming, sales pressure, or promises of treatment. Support should prioritize stopping new Jockey instructions, revoking agent access, explaining venue-side tools, and preserving urgent safety evidence.
  • A trusted person must not receive account details or control unless the user has provided valid, specific authority or law requires disclosure. Jockey must define how authority is verified, limited, revoked, and documented.
  • A self-exclusion, cooling-off period, or closure request must not be weakened by a new session, access code, agent, promotional offer, or support override. Any legally permitted reinstatement process must be separate, deliberate, and recorded.
05

Get help

If trading is causing harm, contact a qualified local support service or the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER, where available. Availability and services vary by location; verify the current resource directly. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Jockey is not a treatment or crisis service.

06

What Jockey must still build

Before live customers, Jockey must provide durable self-service limits, a clear pause and closure path, trained escalation ownership, venue-specific help links, suppression of promotional messages after a restriction, documented handling for vulnerable users, and testing that a restriction cannot be bypassed through another agent key or session. Counsel must approve the final program for each launch jurisdiction.
